This is a beautiful antique solid silver dessert spoon from the late 1700s. It would be perfect for using to eat with or serving vegetables or desserts. It comes in a gift bag and would be a very special present.
The Georgian spoon is made of solid Sterling Silver and is dessert spoon sized. The handle is tapered to the bowl. The top of the handle features a motif of a hand holding three sprigs of holly.
It was made by John Shiels and it was Hallmarked in Dublin in 1793. The Hallmarks and makers mark are on the back of the handle.
The silver is shiny with light scratches and a little tarnish.
It weighs 30g and measures 17. 3cm in length (6 7/8 inches).
