REWASD Aim Assist Cheat on Mouse and Keyboard!

Today I'm talking about REWASD; a software that unfortunately has been used and abused as a cheat in games such as MW2, MW3, Warzone, The Finals, Fortnite etc. But what exactly is REWASD and how is it possible that it can give you aim assist when playing with keyboard and mouse in an online shooter, and still not being banned as a cheat? I watched a video by a YouTube named JackFrags where he is talking about a software called REWASD that was initially made for good purposes, but is now being used by several gamers online when it comes to being able to get aim assist when playing with keyboard and mouse(!), and configs that gives you the possibility to use certain weapons with literally no recoil! Is this cheating or not?
