I’ve resumed my tour of various cities in Shikoku, which I had to abandon last December. After taking a ferry directly from Tokyo to Tokushima, I traveled through Kōchi Prefecture, Ehime Prefecture, and Kagawa Prefecture, crossed the Seto Ohashi Bridge, visited Okayama Prefecture, stopped by my hometown, and now I’m in Amagasaki City, Hyogo Prefecture.
In the Kansai region, there are quite a few instances where stations with the same name are located far apart, with different train lines. Amagasaki Station is a prime example, as the JR and Hanshin stations are more than 2 kilometers apart, yet they share the same name. I’ll be walking around the area near the Hanshin Amagasaki Station. If you walk a bit, you’ll come across the former "Kannami Shinchi," which was once famous as a red-light district but is now just an empty lot. Between "Kannami Shinchi" and the Hanshin Amagasaki Station, there’s a developed arcade shopping street.
